Temporary variable surcharges
Ongoing global market pressures have created increased volatility across fuel and energy markets, impacting the cost of supplying LPG and maintaining reliable service.
Despite our efforts to absorb these increases, this is no longer sustainable. As a result, two variable surcharges will be introduced from 1 May 2026 and will be shown as separate line items on your invoices to ensure transparency.
This reflects changes in diesel prices, which directly impact our delivery costs and are driven by current market rates.
This reflects the cost of sourcing and importing LPG into New Zealand, based on pricing provided by our international suppliers. Due to ongoing global volatility, KiwiGas’ LPG supply arrangements have moved from a fixed pricing structure to a variable rate, meaning costs can now fluctuate in line with international market conditions.
Both surcharges are temporary measures and will move in line with actual cost changes, meaning they may increase or decrease over time. As market conditions improve, we will continue to review these charges with the intention of reducing or removing them where possible.
